Family Guy's second season first aired on the Fox network in twenty-one episodes from September 23, 1999 to August 1, 2000 before being released as a DVD box set and in syndication. It premiered with the episode "Peter, Peter, Caviar Eater" and finished with "Fore Father". The second season of Family Guy continues the adventures of the dysfunctional Griffin family—father Peter, mother Lois, daughter Meg, son Chris, baby Stewie and Brian, the family pet, who reside in their hometown ofQuahog. The executive producers for the second season were David Zuckerman and series creator Seth MacFarlane. By the end of the second season, due to low ratings, Fox resorted to canceling Family Guy. However, following a last-minute reprieve, it returned for a third season in 2001. The series was canceled again in 2002; however, high ratings on Adult Swimand high DVD sales renowned Fox's interest in the series. The series returned for a total of 35 new episodes in 2004. The season received a favorable reception from critics, who called the series "extremely witty and darkly hilarious," and was "unfortunately" canceled. The Volume One DVD box set was released in Region 1 on April 15, 2003 and Region 2 on November 12, 2001. All twenty-one of the season's episodes are included in the volume. investigators/police officers who use both cutting-edge scientific
methods and old-fashioned police work to solve crimes. Horatio Caine
heads the team of investigators while working crimes in the steamy
tropical surroundings and cultural crossroads of Miami. Horatio's team
probes cases similar to those of their Las Vegas counterparts, but the
Miami CSI team are also police officers as well as forensic
investigators.
